Initiative Quarterly Magazine
Everything good about central Minnesota.
Since 1986, Initiative Foundation staff and volunteers have traveled the highways, byways, woods, lakes and prairies of our region. Wherever we go, we are always blessed to happen upon seemingly ordinary people doing extraordinary things for neighbors and strangers alike – with little concern for earning payment or recognition. Sadly, we noticed that these incredible stories, which hold such inspirational promise, have remained largely untold...
Until now.
IQ is the first publication of its kind dedicated to inspiring the spirit of volunteerism and community service. We took everything good about central Minnesota – the people, the places, the uncommon generosity, culture and insight – and put it all into award-winning words, striking photography and full-color illustrations.
Infused with easy-to-read features and perspectives designed for intelligent, busy readers, IQ aspires to create a regional culture of community service by recognizing caring people and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
Thanks to our advertising partners, IQ is a free magazine that costs the Initiative Foundation little more than the price of postage. IQ covers the stories of everyday heroes in the counties of Benton, Cass, Chisago, Crow Wing, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd, Wadena and Wright. More than 10,000 “subscribers” look forward to receiving their copies every March, June, September and December.
IQ is a cooperative venture with Evergreen Press, publisher of Lake Country Journal Magazine. Their involvement ensures that IQ is of the highest artistic and editorial quality. |
